Blairmore House is situated at the heart of Blairmore itself on the shores of Loch Long just along from the wonderfully restored Pier and ‘Old ticket office’. It is in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park with panoramic views of Loch Long and the Clyde.
It was built by the Younger family, founders of Benmore Botanic Gardens, in 1858 and has had a varied history and was owned for many years by Sir Hugh Highgate who made several changes and enhancements. After 1954 it was used variously as a nursing home and an hotel. It is now a listed building and once more a family home.
Blairmore house is well situated for activities such as walking, fishing, quad biking, shooting, or golf locally and there are seasonal cruises on the paddle steamer, "Waverley" from Blairmore Pier. It is also ideal as a base for exploring the wonderful and varied sights and activities in Cowal including the world-renowned Cowal Games and picturesque Loch Fyne.
Whether you want to be madly energetic or simply relax we look forward to welcoming you to our home.
